Hey there!!

It's been quite some time since i last updated... it certainly was a crazy semester... and to know that classes are commencing a week away is crazy ey? anyhow, i just wanna write a Quickie!

It's been a challenging yet exciting semester filled with lots of crashing 'assignments' and a handful of quizzes and what not...

But i manage to pull through nonetheless! It's been a cranky semester but It's all GOOD!! hahaha...

Hillsong conference was absolutely amazing! speakers like Chris Caine, Louie Giglio, Ed Young Jr, John Bevere, Bishop TD Jakes, Chris Tomlin, Steven Curtis Chapman, Israel Houghton and the team were absolutely phenomenol! It's amazing how we managed to pack 27000 delegates each day and 35000 people during both night rallies!!

It was indeed an exhausting week... but it was Awesome!! Tzeteng stayed with me and we had the best times!! yup, fed her my food too and she absolutely loved it!! hahaha...

Rightyo, Now that i'm back in KL, i've been eating like a pig!! hahaha... indulging in all the local delicacies and what not... and guess what! im going to California again in Dec!! woohoo!! can't wait!!

Thanks to all at Simply Younited for a great time back!! and all the other ppl i met... apologies to some of the Gisians whom i've missed this trip... i shall make it back in dec ok! ;) also... to those at Simply Younited; you guys are awesome! each one of ya despite the fact that i am familiar with a minority of y'all! u all still hold a great place in my heart and i'll always keep ya all in my prayers!!

Am leaving next Thursday morning... so till then, be good and see ya again at the end of the year!!

Macquarie signs agreement for training of Malaysian doctors at Australian School of Advanced MedicineMarch 30, 2007Malaysian doctors will undertake specialty training in Australia under a new agreement signed today between Macquarie University and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

The Letter of Intent signed at the Australian High Commission will pave the way for doctors to do a Masters of Surgery at Macquarie’s newly established Australian School of Advanced Medicine.The Dean of Medicine at UKM, Professor Dato’ Dr Lokman Saim, said: “We are delighted to have formed this new partnership with Macquarie University which will greatly assist our doctors with advanced sub specialty training.” He said the medical education agreement between the two universities was a symbol of the great friendship between Australia and Malaysia. It is anticipated that the first trainees will be in neurosurgery and spinal surgery. Other surgical specialties will follow.This is the first agreement in principle that UKM has signed with an Australian university to provide specialty training. Doctors from the Australian School of Advanced Medicine will also visit UKM and assist with curriculum development, research collaboration and teach post-graduate surgery. Dean of the Australian School of Advanced Medicine Professor Michael Morgan has had a relationship with Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for 11 years both surgically and with neurosurgical training.“This Letter of Intent is particularly gratifying to me as I have been working with the excellent surgeons at UKM for a long time,” he said.“We anticipate that we will soon sign a formal Memorandum of Understanding which will enable our school to provide supplementary training that adds value to the superb base that UKM is well known for. They will undergo a final year of training at Dalcross Private Hospital or the new Macquarie University Private University Hospital when it is opened to gain specialty degrees.”The Australian School of Advanced Medicine at Macquarie is the first medical school in the world to offer formal recognition of sub-specialty training. It is based on the Mayo Clinic philosophy of integrated clinical care, teaching and research and will be co-located with the most modern health care facility in Australia.

Hey y'all!

I had a fantastic week thus far... the highlight of the moment is my Connect group leader's wedding celebration! It was sooooooo beautiful!!!!

It was held at the Hope Estate vinery located at the Hunter Valley just 2 hours away from Sydney.

The food was scrumptious...we had like a 5 course meal with entree, mains, dessert and some in between snacks. We had a lil' cocktail thingy at the reception as well...

Its funny how Western weddings are so different compared to Asian weddings... kakaka...well, i heard the 'Yam Seng' bit as Rachel's parents are Chinese therefore they had a lil' toast.

What really crack me up was the fact that everybody else was just oblivious to everything... starring at each other... "huh? what are they doing"? kakaka.... not common in the aussie culture i suppose..

but nonetheless; the wedding is the best that i've attended thus far... Very different.... the deco and everything else was very simple yet exquisite.

anyhow; it was certainly a tired trip driving down at about 11pm... i had a full car load but 3 of the passengers slept almost throughout; leaving me with a random guy (Craig's athletic coach) whom i met at the wedding to entertain me as i drive the whole way back. Nice chap i must say... Very unique name too... (Zobra that is) hahaha....

anyway... ill upload some more pics once i have more free time available...

Another long awaited update!

So... the past week has been pretty eventful! Got lost after missing a turn to North Rocks and ended up towards West Pennant Hills but good grief, i managed to find my bearings on the map and got back to where I was and eventually started from there to my destination.

Nearly came close to 2 accidents (not my fault); thank God for his protection. Offered assistance to my Korean friend whom is moving to the MUV... yay! Attended Colour conference on Friday night which was simply amazing!

Attended Hillsong Album Recording last night which was absolutely phenomenol. The Acer Arena was filled with 20,000 people from near and afar! Praise God! Children's church was great... children behaved well as i taught them stories from felt boards and picture books; made play dough for the kids which they loved.

So, after Hillsong recording, me and my cobbers drove out to some 'Sri Lankan' restaurant and it was just hilarious. The dude infront of me kept cracking me up as he constantly pokes his head out the window at every single traffic light. Later did i know, that was his commonality; sometimes he even gets out of his car and waves to the ppl behind him at the traffic lights. Talk about weird?? hahaha....

This particular Persian dude sat with us and what was so funny; was that he began to eat my food. I ordered a Chicken Masala Dosai and later did i know after i came back from washing my hands; he poked his fork into my sauces and poor guy ate the spices and was almost in tears. That was fine until some of my other friends came over to eat my food.It was hilarious that even this other Chinese Malaysian guy got excited and came over to my side and peered in to join in the fun as well. My Dosai was half eaten even before i could sit down. It was funny... to know that my chicken attracted so much attention; or perhaps it was me they were attracted to... kakkaka...

Anyway, it was a good night as we chatted on the table with our various food and just chilling and gelling along with one another. Company was fantastic as we all got along and made jokes around one another. Even my two friends who came along felt comfortable as they were novice to Sri Lankan food.

So yea... as you can see, im almost half Indian-Sri lankan as this ppl are like a family to me.. we stay between minutes from one another... talk bout close proximity... and they are obviously all from Macq.

Don't worry.... not all my friends are curries... i have heaps of Aussie blonds, Brits, Europeans & Americans as well. It's funny how i get along so well with all this people after such a short period of time. It's simply amazing!

yea... so life has been a buzz.... everyday and every weekend has made my life a lil' more interesting. I believe friends are the most important things in life. Great Company equals Great life! Seriously, if anybody decides to come to Syd; i'll introduce ya to this great bunch of people! They are hilarious, intelligent, good-looking, super friendly, financially stable, very mobile, Love God, connect leaders and ppl whom u can count on whenever something happens! :) Seriously, what's more to life without this type of ppl aye? What more do you want in a friend aye?? hahaha

So that wraps up my week... till then, have a good week lads and lasses!

yo!

so... my life's been really busy.... its only week 2 and i've got assignments due and class presentations and all that shabarack.... (that's not a word) ... anyway, and i've got to conduct 2 hour observations in a primary school starting next week.... for 5 weeks. :( oh well....

my housemates are chilling and enjoying themselves out in the sun.. whilst im inside most of the time 'am sure they think i'm pretty anti-social' trying to get ahead of my readings and assignments.

yea... anyway, im still waiting for my car... :( its been delayed and ive been let down throughout the week.... had to change plans and such because of this circumstance.

yea... but on the bright side, i've been driven around this week by friends from church who's been there for me whenever i needed them. It's amazing how different life is when you have good accountable friends nearby. I feel so welcomed. I've been meeting lots of new ppl... all from diverse backgrounds so that makes my scope of friends pretty interesting as we've got lots to chat.

been meeting new ppl from uni too which is awesome! anyway... thought i write a quick update before my loyal readers start spamming my chatterbox (which i'm yet to fix) informing me to update :P but that's cool.... its good to read that ppl still leave a msg even thought ur not updating as often.

therefore, because of my chaotic schedule.... dont expect too many updates alright :P

Greetings my loyal readers (if there are any)

Life has been a rustle and bustle back in Sydney. Settling in to Uni, buying textbooks, running errants and paying bills. It's been rather chaotic frankly speaking.... haha

Anyway, life has been great! Been helping my friend move out i.e. packing boxes and such. Watching movies and eating lots of Indian food. Do you know that the dough they used for Roti Canai is called Pratha or something here in Aus. Apparently u can get them frozen and just fry them on a saucepan. I had mine with sugar whilst the rest had it with Chick peas and Kidney beans. They were utterly shocked when i told them im having it with sugar.... haha...

So, ill be getting my Toyota Corolla 2007 model next week and am extremely excited to zoom around! haha... im on my Malaysian licensce so Police cannot deduct my points when i speed coz i am not using a NSW license.... hahaha....

Also, i'll be starting my Connect group this month and would be leading Hillsong Kids at the Ryde extension service real soon.... yippee!

What else.... oh i have a wedding to attend in March and Grace Lim is 9 weeks Pregnant! haha... so excited.

So what's up with you guys??? anything interesting? Do keep me in the loop! :)

Bonjour my fellow readers!

Apologies for my absence but i've been having a ball since i came back from the land down under. I'm gonna be travelling quite a bit; leaving Kl on the 27th Dec to the States and back in Kl on the 10th Jan and off again to Sydney on the 22nd Jan till the 30th Jan. I'll take a break from flying; then i'll be officially flying off to Sydney on the 19th February tentatively.

So what have i been up to?

well... let me see:

- indulging in all the local delicacies
-meeting up with friends from near and afar
-practice driving and a bit of parking
-developing a better bond with my immediate family (as everyone's back for good)
-scouting for apartments, wedding planners and looking at potential hotels
-creating new f'ships in church
-catching up with friends (i still havent met up with a lot of ppl)
-cell party
-drunk before dawn musical
-attending more buffets and assumptious eateries
-shopping around for summer dresses

yup... anyway, here's wishing y'all a Blessed Christmas and a Smashing New Year! May 2007 be a year of great challenges and fresh experiences!

yes... here comes the belated b'day post!

it has indeed been an awesome year! god has been amazing; placing people in my journey as i live independently here in sydney. so many things has happen throughout this year... new semester, first practicum, great housemates, dodgy housemates, taking up a leadership role in church and uni, meeting new friends, coming out from my comfort zone... indeed so many things has happen; but i am still learning.. indeed 22 years have swung by... but all in all, it has been great! 3 years spent in sydney already and am half way through my course with no regrets!

my b'day was spent with those nearest to me. started off with breakfast in bed. yes, my bro went out to buy pancakes, burger and orange juice; went out to the rocks market and mall; ate sourkrat at lewenbrau; showed them uni and my place in marsfield; went to macq centre; ate krispy kremes; came back to the city; went out again to circular quay for seafood dinner at waterfront and i pop the ice wine... yummy! food was delicious!

came back exhausted as we all popped right in to bed. indeed, it was a great and relaxing day... we had a good time catching up with life as my bro went on about marriage plans and such... chatted with sis about work and life in general.. the things we dont normally get to do when we're back coz we have our own itenaries.. but most of all... being pampered by the both of them... yes they paid for all the meals... haha... then again its dad's money so.. hmmm.. hahaa.. but it was a good trip. they came down specifically to see me and that by itself is a great gift..

yes, we got lost in sydney on saturday night as we tried to find our way to darling harbour. throuogh many wrong routes; we found our way to Jordans. amazing seafood plattter. amazing price too! haha.. great atmosphere.

oh yes, how can i forget the endless bruises and hitting and wacking.... yes got all of them too. but it was all good.

nuff said; i shall let the pics show ya what happen.

oh, btw: thanx a million to all those who called and text me.. i truly appreciate it.

I have officially lost my voice. bah! i know.. it sucks... but i guess i've suddenly realised how precious my voice box is. i've been hearing stories of the commonality of teachers losing their voices because they spent their time talking to children. often then not; this is so prevalent that most teachers actually have to go for surgery to repair their voice box.

many a times i have overlook this fact as i breeze through everyday without considering how precious my voice is. the amount of time i've blindly spoke without taking notice of the huskiness of my voice.

as another week approaches before the end of my practicum; i hope and pray that i would be able to persevere through this last week as i cautiously take good care of my voice.

much prayers needed and if you know any quick remedies; do let me know. i'll truly appreciate it.

i am starting of my antibiotics tomorrow... bah! i still have cough and my nose is still running like water...

gah... Lord, please take this away.

yes... i believe its time for another entry... so sorry guys, i've just been so busy... times been ticking real quick...

anyway... man, it's already october... gosh; half my semester has already passed by and its nearly approaching the end of the year as i see malls getting a head start on their christmas decorations...

yea... i am currently doing my practicum and man; kids are really difficult to manage... as parents pay so much emphasis on their child. talking bout kids, thanx to them i am now infected with a cold and a dry throat... nonetheless; i am having a great time. no doubt stressful; but indeed very rewarding.

yea... besides that; nothing much has happen. oh, my housemates are absolutely wonderful! praise god! and its finally approaching spring... yay! and then its summer and i get to go to the beach... yay!

righto; gotta go skidadle.. gotta finish up my plan for tomorrow's activity...

yes! i am officially MOVING OUT! yes... for those who don't know... i have 2 dodgy housemates... so much to my parent's attention; they got so worried and therefore flew down to sydney to address the issue.

to cut the long story short; i'm still staying in the village but am staying in another unit down the road... so its no longer unit 68; but unit 77. i would be living with 4 asian gurls... yiaks...now to brush up my mandarin skills.... kakaka...

on a brighter note, im gonna get a car next year! yay!

alrighty then, gotta crack on em' assignments and start speed packing...

a very productive semester....

so, everyone assumes that my course is easy and relaxing... well, if that's what you think, you are absolutely WRONG!

why.. well, for this semester i have not stop... not a break taken since my eventful holiday, then the 2 week volunter prac and my illness that took a while for me to recuperate... anyway.. and then semester started...

... yes, so far i have completed 2 Prac assignments weighing 40%, 1 Math assignment worth 30%.

...i still have to study for a Quiz worth 30% tomorrow, 1 Science assignment worth 30%, another IQ & Intelligence major assignment worth 40% and my 2 week Prac and 5 day Observation Task worth 50%...

... on a brighter note, my parents are down in syd on saturday night! woohoo! they are so concern about my housemates that their gonna come down to see if i'm alright.... haha.. so am gonna stay with them in the city on the weekend...

.... i forgot, these friday is conception day... arghhhh... these means everyone's gonna get so drunk and act crazily and immature! thank goodness i won't be at home... yes, Praise God for wonderful friends who are willing to house you in...

... yes, i am going to visit my friend's connect group tomorrow (my housemates wants me to join them but i told them i can't! yes, perfect excuse!) then stay overnight at my friends' house; then on friday am gonna study and attend powerhouse at night... come home on saturday morning at around 10 ish... leave for a GIS reunion at around 10.30... then come home in the arvo. teach sunday school thr next morning... come home and pack.. meet parents in the city for dinnner and stay over till monday.. depending..

...yes we have a 2 week semester break.. arent you jealous!! hahaha... but not for me...

so here's my schedule:

thursday - quiz 30%
(class finish at 5pm, scram to macq centre; come home- shower and pack; head to connect)

friday- stay at home and finish Science and IQ assg due 13th and 20th october worth 30% and 40% at friend's house

saturday - come home and shower then head to the city for school reunion

sunday - teach at sunday school, come home, pack and head to the city to meet up with parents

things to do during the mid term break:

week starting 17th sept: in the city chilling with parents and rushing with IQ and Science assg

21st sept: meeting with student advisor about my practicum

25th -29th sept: 5 day observation at long day child care centre.. its 8 hours

2nd oct - 13th oct: Prac commences....

13th oct: Science assg due (30%)

20th oct: IQ & Intelligence assg due (40%)

23rd oct: Prac oral presentation 30%

15th nov: ECH 228 final exam 30%

23rd nov: ECH 215 final exam (40%)

yup.. this explains my current life... busy busy busy...

What's been happening!

Hey, how's everyone doing? i've been reading and hearing heaps about the success of e06! Praise God for that! anyway... erm, do fill me in with all the details since i missed it. :(

- but its not all that bad, coz i had a blast over here in syd during that time, we had 2 full months power-packed with multimedia, imagery, song-performance and awesome speakers! it is absolutely phenomenol!

-besides, on saturday the 26th of August, Youth Alive had the biggest event ever! its called the Big Exo Day where thousands of young ppl gather around and worship God. we had bands from US, NZ and OZ. it was fantastic! we had rock, rap, slow and wicked danced performances by renowned artists worldwide! a total of 12000 youths gathered that day. AWESOME!

-i took the bus with about 30 other macq students and met almost all of them. its interesting to listen to their life stories and random ramblings... haha, so we entered the building and everyone kinda just chose to go their own way which was GREAT!

-so there i was with my Mauritian and Taiwanese and half Aussie friends as we took a stroll round the acer arena as we glimpse through all the different activities going on. Motor Cross, Wakeboarding, Surfing, Salsa, Hip Hop, Basketball and a whole lot more! But the best was the over 18s chill... this is DA place for all the uni students to chill. we had live bands including Anne Robertson from Australian Idol's top 5! man, her voice blew us all away! she's incredible!reunited with my other uni mates and long lost friends from the City Campus!

-yup, so lives been buzzing for me too! haha... anyway, gotta scurry off. later!

news: my bro's engaged! yay! that means that everyone's gonna be real busy really soon, but that's cool coz its gonna be exciting!

news: coerced to drink 2 cups of vodka punch yesterday. as some of u may know, i absolutely dislike the taste and smell of alcohol but was forced to by my persistent 'new' housemates whom ill be stuck with till i finish my degree... oh boy

rightyo, gonna get cracking on my assigments.. this semester is whizzing by real quick!

yes... i smell freedom!! yes, after a month long of anticipation... it has finally ended. for those of you staring in space; i'm referring to my exams. haha

other news: emilia' s in Sydney! woohoo! together with her sista Karen and hubby... gonna have lunch with them tomorrow at Chats! yay!

besides that.. erm its just a couple a days till the much anticipated Hillsong Conference commence... yes, it's starting to grow on me... haha

what else.... hmmm, oh, we had free krispy kremes in church on sunday. that was awesome! Hillsong United Campus's end of semester party is this coming thursday and the village (where i live) is gonna have a friday night fling on the 30th of june to celebrate our end of semester... woohooo! its all gonna be exciting!

then i'll be back in KL on the 9th of july... can't wait!

ooh... i smell freedom!!! it smells so sweet... ahh... gotta embrace this moment as the next few days after tomorrow's gonna be chaotic... with everyone coming to syd... haha...

Hey guys, am on my final lap towards the end of semester. I must say this semester whizzed by real quick. It was pretty full on as i took 4 subjects and 1 of it being a third year unit; so it was a challenged.

- anyway, I am gonna be pioneering Kidsong at the Ryde extension service as one of the main leaders with my first experience next week as an observer. Im gonna suss what i can do... had some cool ideas with plans on activities for the different age groups which i shared with the kids leader last week after the service. I'm so excited with what God has planned for this awesome generation.

- on a lighter note, its 3 weeks to the hillsong conference and i am heaps excited. Apparently there's gonna be a couple from SIB which i am so looking forward to see...

-erm, do let me know how the new church is? send me some pictures... its awesome to see the increasing growth of simply united! You guys rock!

- haha; had dinner with daniel and grace last saturday at an asian restaurant at north west. daniel insisted on rendang but knowing my embarassing level of spicy-ness; he told the lady to make it mild. Turns out that it wasnt spicy at all... food wasn't as expected. The thai mango chicken was really bad... it was like sweet and sour diluted tasteless chicken with rotten mangoes... haha; but the vege was the only thing edible together with the rendang chicken. Overall; food was alright but the conversation was great! It's great to know that you have a family here and that you can share your thoughts and aspirations with them... haha... told them about my lecture on developmental neuroscience and they were both really intrigued as Grace started sharing on her new found TV series Super Nanny which i have yet to watched.

-alrighty, i have my last paper on the 26th of june and i'll see ya all at cell (if there is) with my lil' couzie and a bag of goodies! haha..

-introduction to vocal skills written exam (6th june)
-infancy and child development (14th june)
